The fifth and tallest tower in the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development will be released to the market later this month with expectations it will prove even more popular than earlier releases.
Bryce O’Connor, managing director at YPM Group, says the strength of inquiry on Queen’s Wharf Tower is double that received for the 600-plus apartments in Queen’s Wharf Residences, which sold out in record time.
O’Connor is fielding interest from buyers who missed out, and from buyers who bought into earlier releases and are looking to buy again – 90 per cent of inquiries are coming from locals.
The 71-storey tower, opposite South Bank on the Brisbane River, will offer a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
Residents will have access to three levels of first-class amenities including pools, spas, saunas, steam rooms, private dining areas and on-site cinemas.
Those buying into the tower’s Diamond Residences – levels 49 to 71 – will have access to additional amenities such as an executive lounge, library, wine room and sky bar.
The tower is an integral element of the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Precinct, an integrated resort development that will accommodate four new hotels, a casino, 50 new bars, restaurants and cafes, a new pedestrian bridge linking to South Bank and plenty of new public space.
Naveen Dath, a director at Cottee Parker Architects, says the key vision for the precinct was to create a globally significant destination that celebrates Brisbane.
“One of the key, foremost things that we’ve had in our mind is to try to come up with an iconic development, which could put the Brisbane skyline on the map,” he says.
Dath says the residential towers have been oriented to maximise views and provide a point of difference from the grand heritage-listed buildings on the site, which are being restored as part of the project.
“We have created a modern piece of architecture so it contrasts with The Mansions building but does that in a very respectful, very sensitive sort of manner,” says Dath.
O’Connor says Queen’s Wharf has generated a real magnetism.
“Buyers are very excited about the precinct, the amenities and the finishes throughout,” he says.
